4 of us started off from Bangalore around 3.30 in the afternoon in Maruti Omni which didn't had horn:) and we had to cover 400 KM and we knew that we will be late in reaching our destination, on the way we stopped @ Chitradurga to have some snacks and tea and left from that place around 7:45 PM and I had the pride of driving on a wonderful road from there, oh man I had a nightmare driving 150 KM.. we reached Kamlapur where our forest guest house was after crossing hospet around 11 pm, Luckily one of my friend had parceled some puffed rise which we had it as dinner and slept because we had to get up early in the morning to take some landscape photos @ Humpi.
Day two:
We got up @ 5 am and got ready by 6 and reached the place (Virupaksha temple) but came to know that it will only open by 8.30am :(, and to add it was a gloomy day and the sun was covered with thick cloudsL because of which we could not take any photos, we were roaming here and there and finally @ 8.15 we took the tickets and went in, but sun was still playing hide and seek game and we somehow managed to click some pics and @ 9.30 we had to head back to the guest house but remember we had the horn issue and wanted to get it fixed in kamalapur but no luck only 2 wheeler mechanic was there and we had to manage without horn, anyway thought will get it check next day @ Hospet and headed straight to the GH had BF @ 10 and again lunch 12.30 J (though we were not hungry;) and headed to the sanctuary, the sanctuary was around 15 km app and we reached there by 1.45 PM and the guard accompanied us to the place and that was it, we had to stay there for the next couple hrs, to be exact 3 hrs and then the waiting game starts, once the food was kept u can see monkey’s, jungle babblers, tree pies, peacock and peahens, franklins, spur fouls, dove all pouching on the food (made out of corn and some other stuff along with honey which will be caked on the rocks, but we were anxiously waiting for the scene to unwind and we noticed that monkeys started running away and that singled the arrival of bear which were waiting for a long time and we were all ready with the camera and then slowly one came followed by another and then goes the shutter click, click click click on the (multi shots setting), we were thinking will see few more but we were wrong, after 45 min even those went away and after 5 min we saw 2 more came and they were there till 5 PM, we took some shots which came out quite good and then it was time to head back, we headed back to the room, (we still had that issue with the horn), and it was time for our car which demanded some food and surprisingly it was 63.05 +.5 paise more than other places, same time we had some coffee and headed back to the guest house by then it was around 7 PM and we took some rest then had dinner and slept hoping the next day will also be as booming as today.....
Day Three:
We all got up around 6AM as we had to leave to another place near Magadi to take some pics of migratory birds (Bar headed goose), we started around 8 AM in the morning and it was around 100 to 120 KM and it took more than 3 hrs and by the time we reached there it was 12 PM, we could not take too much photos as the sun was too harsh and we left from that place around 3:30 PM after lunch back to BLR and we had around 400 KM to cover and we reached BLR @ 11 PM after having dinner at Kamath near Tumkur...... over all it was a good outing and I am hoping to re-visit sometime during March/April where I hope to see the cubs too
